Latest events in Sahrawi occupied territories debated in Italian parliament
ROME (Italy)- Tragic events that have occurred recently in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, particularly the bloody dismantlement of the Sahrawi Gdeim Izik camp near the occupied city of Al Ayun, were debated Tuesday in the Italian Chamber of Deputies. The debate began with a question of the Italian deputy Carmen Motta (Democratic Party) to the Government about its positions regarding the bloody events of Al Ayun and the human rights situation in Western Sahara, a territory occupied by Morocco. In his reply, on behalf of the Government, Secretary of State of Italian Foreign Ministry Alfredo Mantica affirmed that Italy "is watching closely the conflict between Morocco and the Polisario Front on Western Sahara, in close coordination with its European partners."
