ALGIERS- The protest movement witnessed in some cities of the country over the past 48 hours decreased in intensity on Friday in several regions, while some hotbeds of tension are still persisting in other localities. In the eastern regions of the country, the progressive return to calm was recorded Friday morning and in the afternoon, before some protests resume in the provinces of Bordj Bou-Arreridj, M'sila and Constantine. In Bordj Bou Arreridj (245-km east of Algiers), the disturbances broke out downtown after Friday Prayer. The young protesters targeted public buildings and infrastructures, while in some districts of M'sila (around 250-km east of Algiers), the young rioters targeted a post office, training centres and bank agencies.
