Protest material damages: DZD941.5 million losses to commercial sector in Algiers

ALGIERS – The amount of the material damages on commerce sector properties during the protest movement against price hike of large-consumed products has been estimated to DZD941.5 million, according to bill provided to APS by Algiers Commerce Directorate. The provisional report, which covers the period from January 4 to 8, reported more than fifty business establishments damaged or stolen during these events. The most affected sectors by the acts of theft and destruction are the household appliances, followed by retail trade, effects of clothing and food, said the source.
